Took kid2 to the hospital today
to have her ingrowing toenails removed - yuck!  I couldn't watch I've got a thing about toe-nails, finger-nails and eyeballs, makes me feel sick.  In the end they only did one because she got pretty upset at the injections.  She's got a huge dressing on her toe now, and can't wait to get back to school so she can be ( Read more... )

I put my first fic up on ff.net (oh boy, that was hell!) and I got favourited within 10 minutes!  Mind you there were 80 hits and only a few reviews - but I'll ignore that!  Can't stop grinning now, what a huge sense of achievement .  Little things...

Watched the first in the second series of Kingdom the other night.

SF is just sooo cute with a baby carrier strapped to his front!  He (the character) was talking about how nice it was to have godchildren and I immediately thought of HL's kids.  There was an article in the Radio Times and SF mentioned how good House was, even if he'd never known ( Read more... )

I've actually finished a writing a Housefic - well got to the end anyway - not quite the same thing, and posted a request for a beta.  Arrgh, very scary!   Now, how do you get a word document into LJ ... bet cut-and-paste buggers up the formatting...

It's that time of year again.  Looked back at last years resolutions to discover I have made some progress with time management, so I don't feel a complete failure.  On the other hand, I didn't plan to lose weight over the year so I seemed to have gained a stone and a half... sigh... The first of many kids' performances tonight in the run up to end of term.

This one was kid2 with the school orchestra and choir at a local church service.  I always find church services very moving and struggle to keep the tears at bay most of the time.  I really think I'm missing out on something, but  - faith - I just don't get it.

Yay!  My season 3 DVDs arrived yesterday.  Amazon said they wouldn't be posted until 22nd so it was a lovely surprise.  Oh those bloopers...just can't get enough of 'em.

Kid2 has gone Halloween crazy this year.

The thing is it's not a big festival here, so not everyone takes part - I can't let her go 'trick or treating' because we don't live on an estate full of kids (plus it's not encouraged - too scary for some people), there's no traditional food or any local events.  So what to do?  She is dressing up for the ( Read more... )
