I had a short break between semesters and decided to go on a trip. There were only two predetermined appointments: To be in Columbus, OH by noon on Wednesday and to be at work by 8:30 AM the Monday after. Other than that, my plan was to drive wherever I felt like going. I used to take trips like this with some degree of regularity, but ( Read more... )

If I ever take a trip, I would like you to be my guide.
And just so you have it in written form when I win the lottery I am going to spend lots of time taking trips with you.

That's the best you could come up with? I am stuck somewhere between complete apathy and longing to chunk my computer out a window.

Just pillow talk baby. Great spread. I found it informative, yet immensely entertaining. Looks like a well rounded trek. I am sorry I missed it. On a more solemn note... our west coast touring vehicle (the silver bullet [the ranger]) is soon to be sold. The wife wants to trade up and the truck is on the block. She was a good truck and will be missed. So tip a bit of beer out of the can and sing the praises of our soon to be fallen comrade. She has seen more of this country than most people living in it. (although it seems it was more comfortable to sleep on a freezing park bench than in the truck... small mark against her)

Thanks, Mang! However, you can't get rid of The Silver Bullet!!! Are you crazy?? She's like family! Would you sell your family just because Heat wanted to trade up??!

holy crap no wonder why this took you 3 months to write/edit/photoshop/etc.
i'm only about halfway through, but i'll read it all today.
the neon bar lights in savannah is sort of surprising to me. i don't remember them...paul told us that savannah has strict regulations on signs and such, as they keep their historic look by enforcing such rules. they weren't allowed to even put a sign on the tattoo shop, so they had a flag/banner thing that they used, but it even had to be taken inside by a certain time at night (maybe even dusk).

I was actually referring to signs found inside the bars. That's interesting, though... Now that you mention it, I don't remember seeing anything too modern on any of the River Street storefronts at all.
