Yeah, Ryan is malnourished, which lowers one's resistance. Not surprising he'd get sick. Poor thing, but it's nice that Luke, the Cohens, and Summer are all behind him. Good work!
Well, I'm a week behind, so I at least hope you're feeling better even if Ryan isn't, yet.
I do love this fic. It is entirely believable that a child with Ryan's history would have exhibited more obvious problems than we ever saw in canon. Your characterization of 'anorexic Ryan' is a very credible expansion of the self-esteen issues we know from canon. AND it gives us a chance to worry over *ill* Ryan and experience Sandy and Kirsten as the more involved and caring parents we hoped they could be!
'Le pauvre petit woobie!' [best guess- *hee*]
*wipes Ryan's fevered brow*
I must also echo the comments about *how wonderful* it is that Luke comes to his defense. I really enjoyed the brief period in canon when the two of them discovered they had more in common than interest in Marissa. I believe they would have been very good and loyal friends. Remembering "golden retriever" Luke with a smile, thanks to this!
