Aw, Robyn. You are approaching the situation the way anyone would. You are handling it well, despite the feelings towards normally fun times like Christmas. It's part of all that, ya know...the whole adapting to change, grieving for the way it was...Just embrace it, even the pain of it, and, you will be better off for it. And, all I mean by that is not to fight it off, that will only make it come out later and you won't know what's happening. At least now the pain makes sense. As for tradition, I know that will be hard. But, you guys will make it work. You'll start new traditions. This may be a weird holiday for everyone involved. I know everyone is affected by it, and, wondering how things are going to unfold just on a daily basis, but, especially on holidays. You know, you and I can always watch The Christmas Story. ;) As long as we can throw in one viewing of Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas. I love you so so much. And, I'm sorry about your kids...but, think of it this way...when they took that candy from your desk ( ... )

definitely agree about the adapting to the new situation. i'm incredibly and constantly impressed with how well my parents are dealing with this situation. they are such adults. it has helped that they have been completely honest in all regards of the divorce, every question i've asked and every concern i've expressed they have matched point for point, every time beginning with the phrase, "we've talked through this and we've decided..."
it's so helpful :)
i love you kari! let's watch lots of christmas movies together please please!

Yeah, I won't say that you're lucky, because I know that you may not feel that way, considering what's happening. But, as far as these situations go, your parents are being so awesome...to eachother and to everyone else. They are incredible people, and, you are so completely and obviously theirs. Don't forget that.

Yeah, we will watch as many Christmas movies as we can possibly fit in. Have you seen Emmet Otter? Ugh. It's my favorite. I love you, too, Robyn, so so much. And, I hope you can make it Saturday night. If not, that's ok, too...well, not really, but, you know what I mean. ;)
