Nativity story: it’s the difference between words and the Word made flesh.
Love begins and happens when it shows up in the flesh.
It’s not just ideas or words…this is touchable.
“Don’t just give me words! I want a God with skin on him!”
“For unto us a child is born; unto us a Son is given…the zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.” (from Isaiah)
God Almighty is living among us. He showed up, himself.
Where is the flesh and blood now? Are we left with just words now?
What does the world, the Illinois Valley, Ottawa need today?
We need an incarnation of Jesus; a flesh and blood experience.
Here’s the crazy part: we’re it! We are the body of Christ.
The power of incarnation: see Martin Luther King, Jr., Mother Teresa, Ghandi
Incarnation happened, and it is still happening. It was true. It is true.
Can Jesus be incarnated in this city? Through us?
Lord, let it be unto us according to your word.
