[Ash is heard off-screen, packing bags for the trip into route 30 today. Magikarp stops sucking the camera to respond to the voice coming from the Pokegear.]

[The Pokegear is plucked from the fish's mouth, and is turned, showing the Magikarp unhappily flailing on it's side. Ash appears on screen, looking at Magikarp, then to the camera, wiping it off as he spoke.]

Magikarp, you turned it on again. Sorry if he is bothering you.

[The Magikarp wiggles away from the screen. Though the fish looks upright, the room is actually sideways, indicating the Pokegear is laying on it's side. Ash, sideways, can be seen walking around, collecting his gear as a Murkrow and Sentret help pack his backpack.]

Magikarp, did you turn it on?

I wouldn't say stupid, just... Out of their element. They are fish after all.
