Thanks! I'm really glad to have some support/encouragement because most people I know think it's absolutely insane to studying Japanese while living in China
( ... )
I know, I love White Rabbit Press! I would love to drop as much cash as I can for all that fun stuff, but shipping to China is awfully expensive. =__=;;
Oh! Also, another site I just thought of XD www.japannewbie.com It's kind of an eclectic mix of cultural things, language weirdness, and language tools -- I know the guy who runs it, Harvey, has written a lot of learn Japanese apps for the iPhone/iPod.
はい、中国語はとてもむずかしいですよ. x.x Best of luck with your Japanese studying! When it's a language you enjoy, becoming fluent with it will be much easier. My Japanese prof always told us that once you can read a Japanese newspaper, you're awesome at Japanese or something. XD So maybe you could try that if you find the time.
So far I've found 3 podcasts, and they're all slightly different. Bear in mind I haven't heard more than 2 episodes from any of these, but so far this is what I can tell:
#1 is LearnJapanesePod.com - so far it's been short dialogues and a little bit of grammar.
#2 is the Kyoto Institute for Japanese Linguistic Studies - this one is total immersion and completely focused on learning vocab with a few clips listening to natives.
#3 is Japancast.net - this is a husband and wife team who are specifically aimed at otaku. I think they take clips from anime and deconstruct them, but I haven't gotten that far into it yet.
It's the same thing for me and Korean. I don't want to study Korean. I don't like Korean language. I like Japanese language and I want Japanese stuff instead.
Seems like we all are in the same boat, m'dere.
BTW, did they lift the LiveJournal ban in China or something?
Yes, they started allowing LJ in China again. But even if they change their minds again, Nick & I sprung for a VPN recently so we can pretend to be in America's internet zone any time we want.
