I revere and remember 9/11 because the world events that began on that day directly affect my life. And I don't blame every Middle Easterner for 9/11, but I sure as hell blame terrorists who have attacked us unprovoked since the the Iranian embassy takeover in 1979. How do we negotiate with people whose starting point is that we have to die?

But you're right on when you said that people need tragedy to show compassion. Disasters are like wake-up calls. But I guess that's just human nature.

it's cool,and i have no problem with citizens,especially servicemen,genuinely revering something like that. It's patriotic and admirable. I'd also blame the group, my main beef is the means which are being implemented to "take care" of the problem.
