Oh man, looks like fun. I've been so busy with work and stuff, haven't had any substantive riding time. Gonna go all Creosote if I'm not careful!
It's funny, I just never got comfortable on a road bike. Think it was the drop handlebars...felt like it majorly limited my control and flexibility. So I'd actually prefer doing long road rides on a mountain bike, with the knobbly tires and all.
And yes, The Shorts™. After ten minutes you'll realize nobody really cares and the self-conscious thing goes away. After ten miles you'll understand why guys wear these things. After twenty miles (and 80 degree days), it will be a new religion.
I'm still getting used to the change of posture here. I feel that I don't have as much control on the road bike yet especially when making turns. I'm guessing that'll subside once I get used to the bike more.
If you ever want to take a ride somewhere, let me know. I'll head on up and we can go somewhere. For me, a ride over Dumbarton from my place to yours one of these days is probably in order. ...excuse for some dim sum too or something along those lines. :)
