What a day
Turns out that the puppy my family got from Cincinnati is really sick. The ER vet quoted $1,300 to take care of it. Not quite sure what's wrong with him though so my dad's taking him to our regular vet tomorrow to have him looked at

But we didn't get him from a breeder. He's a mutt that someone had and couldn't keep (I mean I'm pretty sure that's how things were). How we even found out about the dog I have no idea but I expect my grandfather had something to do with it (he tends to have with these crazy, crazy plans like getting a dog that's old enough to already have a name and stuff from way out of state). So "reputable breeder" was never even close to a consideration I don't think. My personal expectation is that the move (which was my dad driving out and getting him) was just a big stress on him, though I'm far from an expert.
I do appreciate the thought and concern though.
