Sorry but people are crazy. Everyone says they don't want to play games, and then they do, or they get weirded out by someone who doesn't. People say they want to be treated nicely but they are attracted to people who treat them like dirt. They say they want a relationship and often they want to talk about themselves and do what they like, missing the point of a relationship, it's about two people sharing, not one person fawning over the other.

I wish I could tell you how to get through it, all I can say is find the people who like you for you, find the people who like what you like. Romance or not, you'll have a better time with them and be happier for it.
