"I'm very surprised you agreed to have Christmas dinner at your house, Mr. Nigel-Murray," Brennan said as she carried Christine inside, with Booth, holding Christine's highchair, in tow. Christine somehow ended up being held by Wendell, who had no idea what to do with her and ended up with his hair being pulled by the baby.
"Well, Dr. Brennan, although I find any form of religion ridiculous, that doesn't mean I don't enjoy the festive season." Vincent said, and then took the hair-pulling Christine away from Wendell, and handed her to Booth, who had just finished setting up the high chair. Booth frowned at the conversation that struck up between Brennan and Vincent about how religion was ridiculous, and tried to keep his distance from them by talking in a baby voice to Christine.
A few minutes later, Angela and Hodgins, plus baby Michael Staccato Vincent turned up. Angela set up Michael's high chair next to Christine's, and the two infants seemed to be conversing in their own language.
The last people to turn up were Cam, Sweets and Daisy, who got there half an hour after everyone else. Vincent looked at them disapprovingly, which made them feel surprisingly bad for disappointing him. By the time they had arrived, dinner was already done and was just waiting to be served. Daisy was happy that there was no waiting for food on her part.
Everyone sat down at the table as Vincent and Wendell served dinner, while Daisy babbled on about something that she had done that day. Vincent and Wendell finally sat down when all the food was on the table, and Booth tried to convince everyone to say grace. Booth was the only one, but everyone else just stayed very quiet to keep him happy.
"So, Merry Christmas, everyone!" Wendell said, grinning, then glared at both Vincent and Daisy who opened their mouths to say something about how it was really the pagan festival of Saturnalia, but they both stayed quiet.
"This is really nice, guys," Angela beamed as she ate her vegetables, then placed a bowl of peas in front of Michael. "Thanks for inviting us."
The Squint Squad ate and laughed for the rest of the night, and eventually it was time to go home. By that time, Christine had fallen asleep in her chair, and Michael was threatening to do the same.
"Okay guys, bye!" Vincent said as everyone started to take their dishes over to the sink. "After you guys are all gone, Wendell and I plan to spread a little bit of our own Christmas cheer by the fire... if you know what I mean."
Wendell sighed and then facepalmed.
"You mean you're going to..." Daisy giggled.
Vincent nodded sarcastically while Wendell kept his eyes on the ground in embarrassment. After a series of goodbyes, hugs and "Merry Christmases", everyone cleared out.
