'Kurt, what are you doing?'
Kurt frowned at the note Friedrich had passed him. The Captain had restricted them from talking while they were supposed to be studying, but he wasn't in the room, so he couldn't hear them... it didn't really matter, did it?
'Homework.' the younger boy scribbled down on a new scrap of paper and placed it into Friedrich's hand.
'No you're not.' the reply came quickly.
Kurt let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. 'What do you know?'
'That you're not doing homework but you're drawing hearts on your scrap paper.'
'Shut up, Friedrich.' The comment was followed by a small frowny face.
'Not nice.' a sad face was after this one, and when Kurt looked up, the blond boy, he was pouting.
'Sorry.' From the note, Friedrich couldn't tell whether Kurt was being sarcastic or not, but he chose to believe that he was not.
'Why the hearts, Kurt?'
'No reason...'
Friedrich raised an eyebrow and leaned over to snatch the piece of paper from the other boys hands. Kurt squirmed and tried to take the paper back, but he decided it was no use when Friedrich was scanning it over.
Kurt sighed and started to look at his homework. Ugh, it was ridiculous. He was never going to use any of this stuff in his life after school. A few moments later, Friedrich gave Kurt another note.
'Love you too, Kurt.'
Kurt blushed, folded up the note and put it into his pocket.
'Friedrich, can you help me with this homework?''
