'I hear in my mind, all this music...'

Two songs (and videos, in fact) I am currently adoring:

Regina Spektor, Fidelity and Corinne Bailey Rae, Put Your Records On.

I've missed music like this--it does for me what the bubblegum pop of my freshman year of high school did, the kind of happy squee that you can only get from happy music.

Josh has optimistic stuff.

The difference lies within the quality. Especially in the singing voice. ;P

Oh no no.

You don't want to get into quality. I love Josh Groban, but having an operatic voice does not automatically trump having a voice or style better suited to popular music.

Oh, yay! I've heard the Corinne song before and wondered what it was! The Regina song is cool, but I'm not really into it. But yay for happy music.

Regina is, I think, a bit of an acquired taste. Jill introduced me to the song, and I had to hear it a few times before it appealed to me.

Of course, YMMV. :)

I ADORE Regina. And I love her videos, too. I shall have to make you a copy of both of her CDs that I have. They're quite lovely, though the latter album, that 'Fidelity' is from, is considerably more upbeat than the former. But both are good.
