Hari bol!

That is so funny, in that I was about to make an entry also about buddhist gongs... I walk by two temples every morning that I work and this morning as I passed the first, I heard them donging their gong... it was a beautiful sound that I heard... It wasn't clangy or tinny like some gongs I have had the misfortune to "doyng"... no, this was a deep resonent pure sound that was soothing... Like the conchs or kartalas in the temples which do not annoy, but uplift and cleanse...

I love the sound of singing bowls... though I probably woulda suspected such sound-healing sessions to be going on if I gave it some thought... but I haven't ever given thoughts to it. Because I have musical abilities and propensities, I am always keen on sounds, especially that of ragas and bhajans. Anyways, it sounds like a really nice experience.

I also did 2 or 3 times a sound healing session in Radhadesh. It was so nice to relax and just float on the sounds.

when your child gets bigger please dont let him run around the temple. i think it is such a great disservice to the deities to have kids running all over the place during arotik or class.

I left NV over this. i could deal w/ the gossip, just not the kids.

Sure, here all the kids gather in the blue room during class so that they don't disturb anyone. It's their play time together. But I don't see a problem with letting kids stay for aroti and take advantage of kirtan and darshan. The children here offer flowers so nicely to Prabhupad and dance during kirtan. I can't imagine why I should not let Arjuna do that too. We're trying to bring him up as a Vaisnava, so..
