augh, okay today is too hot. I have lost my Boston summer mojo and am totally wilting. My mom and I walked 3 miles before it got too bad luckily, but now I'm just lazing around too hot to do anything. I'm trying to finish this embroidery project but it's too hot- if my hands sweat it'll discolor the piece so I can't :( Maybe I'll go copy more ( Read more... )

I have shallots in the pantry... (of course they may be a little past their prime, but that's beside the point)

We've been making valiant attempts to get the cats inside before bed, otherwise they sometimes don't come in all night. This involves bribing them with treats around 9 then locking the cat trapdoor. Do you have a cat door, or are you just letting them in/out the door and window? Oh, we also have to make sure the bathroom window is closed or Abigail will claw her way up the curtain and escape.

We haven't had any kills in weeks!! Not sure why - perhaps they're out of baby birds? How are your cats doing on the hunt?

now see, you could make the yummy recipes in the magazine, while I order pizza :p

We don't have a cat door- we let them in/out the door and window on their demand. Sebastian will just go out in the afternoon and stay out until we call him in at night. Today he stayed in all day though, tired from his night out last night. No kills yet, at least none that they've brought home. I was joking about putting a little cat-cam on Sebastian's tag cause I'm curious about where he goes. He's not friends with any of the block cats that we can tell, and he's not killing anything- what does he do all night??

I don't like shallots, so I just leave them out of the recipe. But I never ever follow the recipe, so maybe I'm not allowed to read MSL.

Do you have any sliding doors? you can get a cat door, if you do, for pretty cheap at petco that just slips in the edge of the frame. We had a balcony at our old apartment, and put that up so they could go hang out "outside."

no sliding doors but we do have a couple of windows that we prop up enough that they can go in and out at their will. We still imagine that we're in charge though so we try to bring them in at night. probably a lost cause ;)
