Oh Bre - you sound blissful! I'm so glad for you. Go visit Calla's Where the Wild Things Are trolls for me, won't you? :)

Bre--Hans and I belong to a Food Coop and a CSA. We love both, but the CSA is really dear to our hearts. The season starts in two weeks!

yeah I thought I remembered you mentioning the CSA, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Brian gets a great job offer soon so we can sneak in in this season ;) If not it'll be next year but at least there are farmer's markets to shop at!

You know, in addition to CSAs there's probably something similar to Planet Organics (www.planetorganics.com) in Seattle, where they deliver a box of organic fruit and veggies to your doorstep every week. You can opt not to receive the fruit and veggies you don't like, and they have different sized boxes, all fruit, all veggies, etc. But you probably know all this. It's slightly less "crunchy" than a CSA, but a bit more flexible and you get a greater variety of produce.

oh interesting- I actually didn't know about this! I'll have to investigate- right now it's realy an issue of cost and not desire. But the more options to choose from once we can afford it the better :)

We figured it actually wasn't much more expensive than our regular fruit and veggie shopping - about $25/week. And you are forced to be so creative - how do you cook a leek? And what do you do with a starfruit?
