[In the end, there wasn't anything Death could do about this event. But there's something she can do now, so she picks up the phone.]

Hi everyone, it's Death. If you need someone to talk to... I'm really good at listening.

"Do you think anyone would mind if I just stayed locked in the garage till people stop being violent idiots?"

It seems like it might finally be stopping now. But I don't think most people would blame you for trying to just stay out of it.

"Its more, now that its over, there's going to be the blame throwing. That and I am kind of disgusted with just about everyone involved."

"Is it worth interacting with people here?"

It's always worth interacting with people. It's just that fear can be a very dangerous motivator, and the town was exploiting that.

...Death?

As in the concept itself given form? Or am I talking to a goddess of some kind?

A personification of the concept, yes.

[...Nope, not the Morrigan. She seemed a little too sane for that.]

Well, that's one I definitely haven't heard yet.

I do tend to surprise people.

[Skeleton. Never thought she'd miss it.]

So I guess it's over?

FOR THE MOMENT IT SEEMS TO BE.

Except of course the fallout. That's going to linger.

You'd think I wouldn't be surprised by this sort of thing. I suppose I expect it to be a male voice.

There was nothing I could do when it was all happening. But what comes after... that I know how to handle.

Do you usually give advice to the bereaved? Grandfather seems to expect they'll be able to sort things out for themselves.

I do. It's a scary, confusing experience, the least I can do is try to help them.

Death? Your voice is...different.

[Vash has only met the discworld Death, not the Neil Gainman-y kind.]

Oh, have you met the other one then?

Hmmm...he was the portrait of the classic grim reaper, skeletal body and scythe and all, right? I saw him mowing his lawn a couple weeks back.

He said something about this not being his jurisdiction. ...wait a moment.

It's not you, is it?! This isn't a personal call before you take me?!

[And now Johnny Yong Bosch is going to be screaming into the phone...er...really sorry about that. It's kind of a good thing though?]

I'm too young to die, maman! Why do bad things always happen to me, maman?!
