GARLIC bread!

Hello all,
Years ago, I had the most amazing garlic bread. This was not your typical garlic spread on french bread, this had garlic cloves baked into the bread itself! My google-fu has failed me as nothing is coming up. The recipes that are showing up only have garlic powder in them, not big hunks and cloves. Help, oh bakers of the internets!

I've found just chopping up a few cloves into medium sized pieces & dropping them into the mix works just fine.

Some people may prefer to roast them first.

So would you use just a basic french bread recipe and add the garlic?

I do it with a rye recipe, but other than that, yes.
