Characters played at Discedo: Germany & Afuganis-tan (yes I realize this makes three nations, but it's still two different canons. If there's a problem with that, I'm more than happy to hear the talk you want to give. My own feelings are unconcerned, and I can play them without requiring interaction.)

Character's Name: Greece (Heracles Karpusi)
Series: Axis Powers Hetalia
Timeline: 2009, before he went into debt and stuff

Personality:
First and foremost! Greece is a laid back, relaxed kind of guy. He likes to sleep when chaos strikes, and doesn't get worked up over anything really. Even his voice (in the anime) has a very soft sort of sound. He tends to be kind of carefree about the world, and more or less isn't troubled by what goes on around him. He also enjoys taking naps.

But! Don't be mistaken by his almost airy stance on the world. Greece is a philosopher to the boot, and while he's not dozing, he's normally pondering other things about life--in canon he and Japan have a short conversation about how he wishes he was a cat and why. Thinks of this nature bubble around in his head while relaxing, and all in all he's a relatively bright guy with a quiet way of showing it

Beside all that, one of Greece's favorite hobbies is looking for tokens of love left by his mother, Ancient Greece. Greece doesn't know everything about his mom, having lost her long long ago, but he spends much of his working time learning about her. He does a lot of thinking about the Ancient society, and tries to put the pieces together of his mother's life. Canonly, it is shown when France stops by for a visit. Greece notes that his mother came up with the Olympics, and probably watched men wrestle around naked. Matters like this--naked men, sex, and the like--are not a shunned topic, and he speaks of these with his usual calm.

Greece loves cats. Like a lot. Seriously, in Greece (the actual nation) cats are found roaming the streets, often times with no owners at all. There are no laws against having pets outside, and cats because of fast population growth (as well as lack of spaying and neutering), their numbers are high. So yes, cats surrounding Greece's face is quite accurate when compared to the actual nation. He attracts cats like he's made of catnip.

Greece has a few close acquaintances; Hungary, Egypt, and Japan. With Hungary, it's more like 'I'm the big brother' kind of feeling, The two of them lived together in Turkey/the Ottoman Empire's house for a long time, and both share the same amount of hate for the empire. With Egypt, the two of them share the same kind of bond their mothers did--as well as the tokens their mothers left behind. They're also freaking OLD, so they've known each other for a long time. Egypt and Greece have had various arguments between them, but Greece has forgiven him since. Japan provides financial support, and is kind of his philosophy bro. Greece personally strives to get to know Japan's culture, such as his language. He's not very good at it, and in his poor attempt, declared "I am the cat village", as well as other strange statements.

Finally, we get to Turkey. With Turkey, there is much hate. ONLY hate. Nothing BUT hate. Turkey is probably the only guy he actually hates with all his heart. Turkey was a terrible "dad" figure, and completely a jerk. Turkey ruled Greece through fear, and dictated the boy in anyway possible. For about 400 years Greece lived with Turkey (up until about the 1820's). Greece had always wanted independence from Turkey, but it wasn't until 1821 the movement was finally began successfully. During it, Greece was given help by Britain, France, and Russia. By 1830 Greece was independent, and continues to hate Turkey with a passion, going through on and off wars with his previous master. Turkey is also his rival for Japan's friendship.

What your character can offer: Greece can babble over wisdom and philosophy, as well as cat-love and relax... things. He's also a nation, giving him all that good nation extra-super-like-powers.

What items will they be bringing with them? His clothes + an extra set, jacket, hat, the cross-shaped battle stick, and I would GREATLY appreciate if he could bring a cat with him since they're very close to his character

Third-Person Sample: "Guess that's all I can do today."

Greece lifted his shovel and set it over his shoulder, letting out a soft breath as he did so. This was not the first day he'd spent digging through the ancient ruins his mother left behind. It was not the last. He looked over what most would think a wasteland and thought to himself; the treasures that are here. It seems I find them all, and later I find more.

And he did. Even after thinking he'd found it all, he would continue to dig. There was no end to the ideas and achievements of his mother. Some of the information he learned by looking, some he found through stories or uncovered relics. Often times he guessed.

He believed his mother to be a very rich woman--with love and prosperity.

'Miao.'

Greece turned to find one of the many cats in his home over for a visit. It looked up at him, and called him again. "Guess you wanted to learn about the Ancient cat god."

'Miao'

Greece bent over and set his shovel down to pick it up. Once positioned on his shoulder, he took the shovel back and moved.

"My mother was a star gazer," he explained to the cat. "If you've ever looked into the sky at night, there's a lot of shining things. Those are stars. She liked to look at them and find pictures--kind of like connect the dots. So I think she liked to play the connect the dots in her spare time, and invented the game."

He stopped, and looked into the sky. It was dusk.

"We should play connect the dots, too." He looked at the cat for approval.

'Miao'

"Good idea," and soon enough, fell back to wait for the stars his mother connected before him.

First-Person Sample: Three items on an island, right?

((he pauses a moment to think.)) Well, I guess I'd bring my cats to keep me company, since I'll be on the island alone. That can count as one item, I'd say. It would be like bringing a bag of nuts or sunflower seeds.

Guess I'd bring cat food next, so that's two. It'd be weird for a cat to eat a banana, but I guess it'd be kind of cute to watch them peel the outside off with their paws.

Last, I'd bring Japan. We talk about stuff like this a lot, so then I could have somebody to talk to. He'd help me take care of my cats, too. Then maybe we can build a boat and go fishing.

((a pause.)) Hey, have you ever wondered what it would be like to have gills like a fish? I wonder where they would be... ((he lifts his hands up, and picks a spot on his head, wiggling them like fish, as if to prove a point.))

application, greece
