[Break can be found in the Bakery, sitting contentedly near a mountain of sweets.  Cakes, pies, tarts, puddings, muffins, scones, biscuits and more are stacked on the table in ridiculous amounts.  How a human could possibly consume so many sweets is almost unbelievable.  Already a small pile of dishes is beginning, nearly licked clean but obviously

[Hm, surely he won't miss that donut there? He has so much already. Vash is just going to go ahead and reach out for it.

[break_the_past]

[Surely not indeed. The puppet turns first, while Break is still finishing his tart. She gives Vash an uneven stare and shakes her head before she speaks.]

That's not a good idea mister.

[A moment later, the butterknife has buried itself in the table, not more than an inch from the outstretched hand. Break fixes the man with a smile.]

Manners usually require a name first. A greeting at least. Tsk. But stealing candy from your elders, now that's just the lowest of low. What's next? Children? Babes in their pram?

[THAT DOLL IS ALIVE!? It's so creepy! No, wait! Stay cool, Vash! There's a donut on the line! Oh, and your fingers too I guess.] Ahahahhaa, who me? HAHAHAHA! Never? It's just... well...

Can't I just have one? Please? [It's right there!] It's getting stale! [EVERY SECOND IS ANOTHER SECOND IT'S LESS FRESH!]

[break_the_past]

[Break raises an eyebrow and rests his elbows on the table after setting another finished plate neatly in on top of the stack.]

So desperate for one and still not so much as a name. What do you think Emily?

[The doll turns to him and giggles in an unsettling sort of way.]

He must not want it very badly!

[Oh, it's Xerxes and Emily!

...With a pile of sweets. This is awesome. Okita steps into the bakery for once, keeping a firm hold on Saizou since the pig is eying everything edible and squirming. He raises one hand and waves to Xerxes and Emily, smiling.]

Hello~ Having a bit of a snack?

[The presence that approaches isn't threatening, but is still somewhat unfamiliar. At least until it speaks. Xerxes places the voice quickly, nodding with a smile. Is that some kind of creature with him?]

I was feeling a little peckish. Care to join us? Emily promises to mind her manners so long as your small friend does the same. I don't think we've yet been properly introduced. Not in person at least.

Is that alright? I wouldn't want to intrude. And this is Saizou.

Saizou, say hello.

[The piglet looks up at his master, then looks at Xerxes and his weird puppet friend. ....And he snorts once before snuffling at Okita's sleeve.]

And no, we haven't. If I remember correctly...Your name was Xerxes Break, yes? And Emily-chan. It's nice to meet you both.

You've got an excellent memory. Not everyone remembers Emily. It's nice to finally meet both Saizou and Okita face to face, isn't it?

[He turns to Emily, who seems more amused watching the little pink piglet.]

He's not gonna eat all of 'em, is he?

No intrusion at all. It's rare to have good company here.

[It's been a while since Regal has had such a hungry customer (aside from Vash), but there are no complaints on his end, as the man is clearly enjoying everything that is set in front of him. He'll keep supplying more as long as Break keeps eating.]

I see you're not a believer in saving dessert until after dinner.

[Break isn't about to burn any bridges with the one supplying him with all of his favorite treats, so he smiles and nods.]

Life is short. Desserts should always come first. Don't you think so?

I wouldn't be running this bakery if I didn't agree, though there is also much to be said for a good meal as well. A dessert can be the icing on the cake of fine dining.

I don't think I caught your name. A shame considering I've been enjoying these for so long. Xerxes Break, patron, unimaginable pest, roguishly handsome, and seeker of sweets.

[All those sweets... Surely he won't miss a few, right? Blackbeard's not overly picky; he'll just try to take a handful of whatever he can grab. Unfortunately, stealth and subtlety have never been his strong points, given that he's twice the size of most people.]
