Haha, Leo. It's like his payback for having to freeze to death in Titanic. CRAZY DEAD WIVES.

Yeah, from the trailer, I thought there was actually going to be a mild romance there. But other than that brief kiss, there wasn't even much flirting between them. Oh well, my need for romance was filled by Dom/Mal.

It's possible that even if this is a dream, they are still real people (like Mal shows up his dreams all the time and those kids).

I only watched the movie once so far, so I probably missed some tiny details and I was too busy being distracted by how good the movie was to even care about anything else. LOL I went to see it with my brother, and by the end he seemed calm and tried to pretend he didn't care about it, but I think that's mostly because he was confused by the dreams, and I'm just sitting next to him trying not to explode from excitement. lmao ( ... )

Yeah, actually the first time around I didn't really take notice that the top was supposed to keep spinning in dreams but fall in reality. It was only when the credits started, I'm like WHAT? WAIT.

I loved how all three levels had all this intense fighting/shooting/chasing going on. The humor was so unexpected cause you'd think Chris Nolan is so serious and stuff but I just loved that all the characters became friends and had such good chemistry. SAG WINNER PLEASE.

It's hard to tell right now if 2010 will be a good Oscar-bait year or not. I guess there are some promising movies to be released in the winter but I've read up on some of them, and they just don't seem as epic and original as Inception. You're totally right about The Hurt Locker. I thought that it would be like Sideways-- win all the critics awards but not the big ones. But I guess last year kind of sucked... LOL. I mean, everyone thought The Lovely Bones or Nine would win Best Picture.

Haha, I listen to the soundtrack even when I'm in the car.

Yeah, I love Nolan's humor and sometimes I'm not even sure if I should be laughing. Like in The Dark Knight, when the Joker did that pencil "trick". LOL I really need to watch some videos of the cast because they seem to be awesome together. They're just what I needed to get over the Inglourious Basterds cast. I was really starting to miss them for some reason. lol

I agree, none of the upcoming movies seem like they'll be as amazing, and yeah, last year did pretty much suck. I actually thought Up in the Air would win everything, but then THL just started dominating and then there was Avatar...and Up in the Air just kinda disappeared. lol Sucks that Nine and The Lovely Bones ended up being so disappointing. ): I'm still looking forward to the awards seasons, and I probably will get nervous as fuck again. At least I don't have to worry about James Cameron this time. >_>

I still like listening to it while I sleep. LOL And I feel like listening to Hans Zimmer's other work again.

Btw, do you use MSN?

Haha, I laughed at the pencil scene too even though it's like totally gross but it's just such a funny/creative way to kill someone. Not even just stab him with pencil, bang his head on it.

Yeah, the premises of all these Oscar bait movies coming out later just don't seem THAT interesting to me. Like some of them are interesting enough for me to want to watch it but not BEST PICTURE WINNER. Inception is just so epic and the story is something so different from what we've seen before. Thank god James Cameron takes so long to make his movies. Let's hope there isn't another douchebag this season that I have to worry about.

I used to have MSN but then I got a new computer and didn't reinstall cause I thought it would take up too much time. Haha, then I discovered LJ and Tumblr so that was all moot.

Yeah, I hope everything turns out to be exactly how we're expecting them to be, and then Inception wins everything. I'm still hoping Julianne Moore and Johnny Depp will get nominations too just to make things even better. lol

Haha, I was just wondering because it might be easier to talk on MSN than here or Tumblr.

I actually have a theory about the top spinning... I'm really leaning on the editing here... but the "cut to black" was literally a cut to black and not a fade to it. If it was a slow fade that would mean that the top was going to keep on spinning forever... but since it was a quick cut, then it could've easily slowed down the second after the screen went to black.

Though I think it's interesting to think... if this really all is a dream, that means that Mal really IS living in "reality" or at least one level up for the dreams. Coming up with that spooked me out.

I agree though about the brilliance of this film! It was absolutely genius and I loved it! The love story especially =). The chemistry between Leo and Marion was FANTASTIC. I got goosebumps when he said "we did grow old together".

I think Marion played psychotic insanely well! She was so haunted... I'm not saying "another Oscar" because, like you said, I don't think they will get acting nods either... but I think she deserves props for her performance.

Yeah, the thing is-- Cobb did spin the top earlier in the film twice and the top falls so we know that at least the beginning has to be reality (if this totem rule applies). The part that gives me questions is when Cobb first experiments with Yusef's sedative, he wakes up and goes to the bathroom to spin the top, but he's interrupted by Saito before he can. I would think if the dream theory holds then it would post-meeting up with Yusef and Eames.

Ahh! Well, I forgot that he spinned it twice and it did fall beforehand.
So I guess she is "really dead" after all.

I have to say that I mostly agree with you about all the things you've said about the movie ( ... )
