Tonight may very well have been my single best night in the whole time I've lived in L.A. I finally partook in this city's Critical Mass and it was completely amazing

Barcade is an amazing place that I just found on tuesday night. I was walking down Western Ave to meet Robert at another bar called Frank and Hank's when I noticed something. This place I was walking by had all tinted windows so you couldn't see anything inside and the only signage it had was a blue neon Pacman ghost. I poked my head in the door but all I could see was really nice looking tables and booths. It looked like a posh LA place but I told Robert about it when I saw him anyways. We had a couple drinks at the first place and decided to walk down to the mystery place.
It's nearly as good as Ground Control. They have: Paper Boy, Gauntlet, Rampage, table top Mrs. Pacman, Asteroids, Centipede, Twilight Zone pinball, Gun Fight, Donkey Kong and a few more I can't remember. They also have a DJ, beer and wine only, and food till 1AM.

So, these days I'm a bike commuter, going from the U District down to the western edge of Queen Anne hill daily, roughly 10 miles, round trip, and guess what happened today?
I got mowed down by an Audi TT that I'd passed twice, and didn't bother to signal or check his mirrors before he made a right turn.
Luckily I was alright, so I got up, and went back to biking home, but the bastard followed me around most of Lake Union before he finally gave up the chase.
I'm pretty fucking livid. I mean, is a foot and a half of space at the right hand of the road too much to ask?

Oh man, mean, inconsiderate drivers are the worst. I'm really glad you're commuting on a bike. That's great. I do 10 miles a day also. I can't tell you how many times I've been yelled at and mistreated. And I ride on two lane roads! It's crazy. I know Seattle can be pretty bad, but seriously, the people in LA are fucking brutal. No one gives a fuck about anyone else when they're driving. I've had a lot of close calls but nothing bad yet. Do you Critical Mass in Seattle? I'm glad that you and your bike are ok. When I get back maybe we can go on the 5 mile drive in Point Defiance or something.

Hahahaha...
Uh, yeaaaah, I got hit again, this time at the corner where a cyclist got run over by a garbage truck.
Both knees are sprained, my bike's fucked, I've got a lawsuit pending, and huge medical bills.
Viva Seattle!
Anyway, the website hasn't been updated in a while, but yeah, they say they do it every month. Better than that, though, is this crazy game of either capture the flag or a scavenger hunt that goes on every couple of months. I've never been part of it, but I was getting a donut one day and I got swarmed by at least 120 bikers decked out in leather jackets and pointy German WW1 helmets and pink boas and shit. They stopped for like 5 minutes, then someone blew a whistle, and they bolted off again. More research is necessary.
If you catch me before August, I'd be down for doing the 5-mile drive, after that, I'll probably be in a country where "critical mass" has a little more... historical connotation.
