gee what action could this be. iheartcabbage June 7 2011, 04:47:28 UTC
[Man, what a bullshit week this had been. All of his friends being killed off, the whole town going batshit insane. He had locked himself up inside the house the previous weekend, but eventually gotten dragged along to discover another friend's body. After that... everything was really just a blur. He tried to avoid people while still managing to go to work to avoid getting droned when he could... when he thought the coast was clear, at least. That had been where he was most of the day. He finally returned home, stumbling upon her note in the process of putting his things away. ...Did this mean she was finally back?]

...Rider?

Oh, Adachi.

[That shaky voice stirred her from the slight reverie she was in.]

You got my note, then?
Please come to the living room once you’re settled in.
I’d like to talk to you.

is this the sexy time action? ;D iheartcabbage June 7 2011, 05:03:05 UTC
[Pfft, fuck getting settled in. He'll be rushing right over to her and giving kind of a compulsory hug.]

Where the hell have you been!? I thought they might have killed you off like everyone else. God, I'm so glad you're alright.

[...And then he'll let go, kind of regaining his usual sheepishness. Maybe he'll just take a seat on the couch.]

Uhm, sorry. You wanted to talk, right? About what?

[She’d tense a bit before draping her arms about him as well.
She had to admit she was happy to see him.
He was in pretty good condition considering all that had happened.]

I found Sakura. She’s doing well.
I had to stay with her, you understand.
I’m perfectly fine, myself. I-I’m actually happy to see you.

[Taking a deep breath, she’d settle herself for her plans.]

I made a promise to myself. I want to be honest with you like you were with me.
I want to tell you who I am. Would you be interested?
Do you think you can take what I have to say?

[Ah, Rin. She knew at least Rin would have made it through this nonsense unscathed.]

Now, here’s a welcome sight.
Somehow I wasn’t worried about you. Still it’s good to see you’re in one piece.
I made it through just fine, thank you.
I waited it out like a particularly dreary thunderstorm.
But I’m sure you fought your way down the middle, am I correct?

Good. I’m glad to see you stood your ground.
It’s also a credit to you that you knew when to fight and when to retreat.
That’s the sign of a true leader.

[It sounded like flattery, but Rider did think highly of the girl.
She respected the choices she made.
It may also have something to do with the pure admiration Sakura felt for her sibling.
This kind of thing would have to reflect well on her servant.]

You’re a very dependable person to put yourself on the line for others like that.
I personally thank you.

[ Souji is out and about. Lots of things are on his mind too, but this kid set himself into action already with extensive plans for later in the day. But he sees Rider and waves when their eyes meet. ]

Hey there.

[She’d be more than happy to return the gesture, pretty elated to see him alive and strolling about.]

Ah, Souji, you’re okay. I’m so glad.
I was worried about you.

I was alright. I didn't get a letter so I came out nearly unscathed. Have you been safe?

Mhm. I'm doing quite well considering.
I didn't receive a letter either so I stayed with a dear friend.
She needed the support and I felt better at her side.
I'm sure you understand.

I'm relieved that you didn't get one.
I can't see you in such a desperate situation.

Ah, yes, of course... i-it seems like everything is over, anyway.

*Sakura had been visibly out of it since her stay at the church but she was still keeping herself together for the sake of her friend. After all she really didn't want to make Rider worry anymore than she needed to.*

[Rider would gently rest a hand on her shoulder to comfort her.
Sakura had seemed so shaken. It was as though her thread had grown so thin that a whisper could snap it.
She just wanted to bring her back to something somewhat familiar.]

I’m sure your roommates are quite fine.
You can tell them how you’ve missed them and then perhaps I can draw you a nice bath?
You’ve been through an ordeal. You can’t be expected to pick up where you left off.
Some rest would do you a world of good.

1 - After the thread with Sakura, chronologically? expiatrice June 8 2011, 10:11:38 UTC
[Sakura's been made to go back to her room and rest. She wasn't able to do much back in the Church, but given her fragile mindset then and all the extra tension that surrounded them, being back "home" now should at least ease some of that, and having talked with her friend Rider would have helped.

...

Hopefully...

But at any rate, now that the chaos has finally settled, it's about time that she has a serious talk with Rider, whom she've already gathered to have been the chief person who looked after Sakura back in Fuyuki City.]

Rider, is that right? If you don't mind, would it be okay to talk for a bit? I could put on some tea too, if you'd like. [She asks courteously with a small smile. Odds are that Sakura probably mentioned her to Rider, so the other woman would likely have a good idea already of what this might be about.]

Sounds good to me. breaker_gorgon June 10 2011, 05:14:22 UTC
[Rider would nod politely, accepting the offer for the talk...and the tea.]

That would be lovely, thank you very much.
And, yes. Please call me Rider. You’re Ciel, correct?
Sakura speaks highly of you.
I’m in your debt, truly. You’ve been a great help to her.

[She studied the other girl as carefully as she could comfortably manage.
So this woman looked after the whole house? Admirable.]

[She'll get on it then, leading Rider to the kitchen and starting to boil the water as she keeps talking. This won't take long anyway to set the kettle on the stove, so she'll join the other woman by the table once that's done.]

Mm, you're welcome. That's right, and I've been with Matou-san ever since the first day that she woke up in Mayfield, assigned as a 'daughter' in this household. It's only natural to look after her, so you don't have to thank me for that. [She smiles back, nodding.] I didn't expect things to turn out as they have, but it does seem that we are both from the same overarching world, though coming from different cities. I have already heard about the Grail Wars even before meeting her, but it's Matou-san who told me about her condition, after the town returned to her the huge amount of prana that she possessed as the vessel. [Her demeanor does shift to a more serious air as she keeps going.] I'm no magus, but I do know a bit about magecraft, so I've been tutoring her during our free time to control that prana. ( ... )

[She took a seat as instructed, crossing her legs under the table and watching her host busy about the kitchen.]

She must really have been shaken, waking in a strange place such as this.
If it were not possible for me to be at her side, I’m relieved she had someone to comfort her.
The home pairing here is odd, but to find someone who is from a similar world and knowledgeable as you is a great deal of luck.
It pains me to think what could have happened to her if that prana had gone unchecked.

[She’s thoughtful for a moment before continuing.]

She’s told me quite a bit of the things she’s been doing. She seems stronger, but I cannot help the worry in my heart for her.
She deserved her happiness. And in my time, she had it.
You give her that small bit of normalcy back. For that, I’m grateful.
It’s the best that can be done for her, I know.
I just wish I could do more.
