Heh, we used to have folks do that at the ER I did my inservice at for my EMT cert. Theyd come in with the lamest stories and try to get pain meds. Which is funny because they are harder to score than hens teeth at that particular hospital (Trust me, I came in once with an abscess in one of my molars the size of a marble and all they gave me was antibiotics and some mouthwash.)

But theyre druggies. Would you expect anything more from them?

my grandfather (a surgeon) used to carry only relay for out of fear that some one would know he's a Dr and hold him up for a prescription.

When I had to go to the Er a few weeks ago ($600.00!!!!) for an infection i was afraid was strep thought they gave me prescription for a 6 day course of antibiotics a big Ibuprofen and a perkiest prescription. I only filled the antibiotics (after asking the ER staff to be sure they were just for the pain). Odd cause the pain was not relay bothersome at all.
