Mansion of Bad Decisions, Sunday Morning

It'd been a weird couple of days for Mike. Starting with Adam being here, and the ill-adviced, island-caused revisit of his relationship with Brooke on Friday night, and just... Yeah. The crash between Florida and Fandom and all that went with it. But things seemed to have righted themselves somewhat, by Sunday morning. Adam had made himself scarce

"Sure," Brooke replied, and it wasn't that dry and sarcastic sure she was so fond of. Just sincere, and she even smiled a bit, sitting by the table, chin on her hand. "You got toppings and everything?"

Mike pretended to be affronted. "Have I got -- baby girl, who do you think you're talking to? My house gets invaded by teenage guys all the time, of course I have toppings and everything for waffles."

She laughed.

"I wasn't sure! I thought maybe the Maryland life had changed you. In fact, I'm pretty sure it has. I think you used to go out for breakfast like ninety percent of the time."

"Well, I didn't have this wonderful house back then." So not all of his money had been going towards renovations. "Also I need to use the kitchen every once in a while, or I swear I'm gonna lose it to Derek entirely."

"Waffles?" Derek was also silently judging your guests, Mike. So. Sorry?

[breakfastliker]

"What's wrong with waffles?" Brooke asked, looking up.

Mike... was not going to get involved in this, if he could help it. (Being in the same room, he probably couldn't.)

Mike was a coward. A coward.

"You're cleaning up."

[breakfastliker]

Brooke raised her eyebrows. Really, was there any need for such hostility.

"Uh, I thought that's pretty much a given. We're all adults here."

Except maybe Adam, but he'd already gone without making any particular messes.
