"You're an artist?"
Namine's head jerks up at the question, blue eyes widen, too-pale hands grasp her sketchbook closer to her. She watches the one who spoke, a tallish, dirty blond Nobody, warily.
He grins, and confusion fills her.
"Aw," he says, "I didn't mean to scare you. I just heard a special Nobody popped up, and I wanted to see her." That wide grin still sat there.
"Who...who are you?" she manages to ask. She doesn't really trust anyone here, in this castle--too white, just like her--not a single one. Not Marluxia, with his knowing, cruel smiles, nor Larxene, with that crazed look in her eyes.
"Demyx. Number Nine of the Organization, and a musician, an artist, as well. What about you?" he replies.
"Namine." She says it softly, as if she doesn't really expect him to care.
"Well, Namine," Demyx says, striding over, and leaning down to look her straight in the eye--and his smile is a bit too wide, and a bit too cheerful, and his eyes a bit to open, too honest, and she gets the strange feeling-- "I think we'll make good friends."
--that a witch like her shouldn't be around someone like him--
And she knows, just knows he's not innocent, not as pure and happy and honest as he seems, but the fact is he does look and act that way, and she finds herself nodding--because she wants to be surronded by that false purity, wants to drink it in and have it for her own, and she wonders--
"Great!" he says, laughing. "I'll play you a song later, okay?"
