Title: Happily Ever After
Pairing: Sora/Kairi
Summary: In some ways, it was like a fairy tale. Both for
kingdom100 [Prompt # 72 Happy] and a Christmas present for LMG.
Disclaimer: I don't own Kingdom Hearts.
It sounds like a fairy tale, the beautiful princess kidnapped, the brave, handsome knight saves her, and they get married and live happily ever after.
But the beautiful princess isn't a real one, at least not a royal one with a castle and a king and queen as mother and father and riches galore, no, she isn't, not in that sense, and the knight, while brave, could only be called cute. His gleaming sword is only a giant key, his noble steed a dog and duck, and his trusted companion turns to the darkness.
But he does defeat the villian of the story, and rescues his princess--only for their tale to take another turn. The princess was never supposed to be seperated from him again, and they certainly weren't meant to forget about each other--the knight wasn't meant to go after another princess.
And the princess is never supposed to fight, to go look for her knight, but she does, because she's no ordinary princess.
And finally, finally, they win, triumph, and return home to live out their happily ever after.
--Except not in the classical sense, for the knight never confesses, and they never marry, and really, what kind of fairy tale is this?
But it doesn't matter, because even if they don't say it, they love each other, and always will, and guess what?
That's all the happily ever after they ever needed.
