Well, I'm leaving the Seattle area at the end of this month. I'm moving to Whatcom county/Bellingham area as I accepted a job as branch manager for a small Customs broker in Blaine. Taking a $10K a year pay cut (ouch!) but it will be worth it to have my sanity and a life back again. Eventually when the owner plans to retire, I have first dibs on

I lived in B'ham for many years. I think that you will find that with the significantly lower cost of living, even 10K less is actually a raise. We had such a pretty little house on James street that we paid $108K for in 1998 and sold for $135 in 2003. I still miss it sometimes.
