[Spike is sick of being in the infirmary. He's not really feeling healthy by any definition of the word, but he didn't get where he is today by letting things like that get in his way.]

Right. Checking myself out, doc!

[He doesn't wait for an answer before swinging his legs out of the bed. He gets hit by a wave of dizziness, but he puts a hand on ( Read more... )

[Elphaba watches him stumble toward the door with vague interest, but doesn't do anything to stop him. She just wants to watch to see if he manages to make it without falling on his face.]

[Spike doesn't fall, though it's a near thing a few times. Then he glances over and scowls a bit.]

Gonna offer to help or tell me I should lie down?

"Actually, I was considering starting a betting pool on how many times you'd fall before you got out of here. You're a warden, shouldn't I trust your judgement on whether or not you're ready to check out?"

"I won't fall." Spike put his hand on the wall and took another step. "Might take me a while, but I won't."

[It's a little known fact that Andrew just happens to enjoy a random walk every once and awhile. Or perhaps it isn't that little known. Or perhaps people just don't care. In any case, Andrew just so happens to be strolling in the area of Spike's cabin as the vampire is arriving. He slightly jumps at the sight of Spike, but quickly recovers as he notices an overwhelming urge wash over him. Andrew hurries towards his "friend," making no direct move just yet.]

Spike! You're better? Should you be out of the infirmary yet?

[No, no he is not better, and he shouldn't be out yet. But Spike just straightens and pretends he isn't fighting the urge to collapse.]

Never much cared for what I should be doing.

[Andrew nods as he notices Spike straighten up. After a second of staring, though, Andrew throws his arms around his "friend" in a firm hug, even though his common sense is shouting that this is the worst idea ever. Ever. But he can't help himself! He just needed to hug Spike and now he's doing it and, well, he likes hugging, but he just knows that Spike is going to bite him for this...]

[Bite him? Perhaps. Or alternatively, Spike will hug him back just as firmly, if not a little more because he's not exactly having the easiest time standing. Right up until the moment passes and he wonders why exactly he's hugging Andrew. So he pulls back and gives him a confused look.]

[Buffy is knocking on Spike's door. After hearing that network post, she had to go see if he was alright. But it was a little selfish. Some things never change. Whenever Buffy is feeling crappy but isn't really willing to talk about it, she sees Spike. It's been like that for years. Ever since she came back from the dead.. The second time. She's dressed casually, she's not really trying to hide her wounds anymore, as they're all closed up and bandaged. Her left upper arm is wrapped in gauze, and there's a large bandage between her shoulder blades. A long, very slight scratch starting at her collar bone and crossing down, disappearing behind her shirt.]

Door's unlocked.

[Spike's made it to his room, but it took a lot out of him. He's collapsed in an armchair by the TV, and he doesn't really have the energy to go get the door. He does pick up the remote and pause the DVD he's watching.]

[Buffy walks in, gives him a little hesitant smile, and closes the door behind her.] Sooo, you skipped out early, huh? [She raises her eyebrows in a mock-authoritative gesture, then shrugs.]

Nah, I don't blame you. Anything remotely resembling a hospital makes me all ooglie. Plus? Boring. [Yes, Spike, she is talking a lot without being prompted. You know what this normally means. She crosses her arms and walks over.] How's the post-stakeage treating you? [Awkward smile!]

I've been worse. And I'm sure I'll be fine in a few days.

[He smiles when she comes in. Even when he's sore and exhausted, seeing her cheers him up.]

Boring being the key word. Here I've got telly, at least.
