This morneing I went out and bought a book as a birthday present for my mum. The book was Making History by Stephen Fry. Mum was saying last week she wanted to read one of his books, and it should be very funny if it's by Stephen Fry. I also bought a card and some wrapping paper. On my way home I stopped off at the supermarket for my weekly ( Read more... )

I really enjoyed it, I liked it better than A History of Violence, which was also a David Cronenberg gangster film with Viggo Mortensen.

Well, I thought that since football refers to a very different game in America, it would probably avoid confusion.

I saw Eastern Promises as well. The bath house scene had me cringing - knife in the eye, knife in the eye!!

That scene got a really big reaction in the cinema! I think it shocked a lot of people!

This was probably the weakest of the Saw films. Despite a few effective scenes and plenty of blood and gore, it really seemed kind of bland.

what did you feel was so bland about it???

i know that i hadnt felt the same when leaving this film as i had after seeing the other three.... but at the same time, i feel like there were a lot more questions after this one than any of the others, unanswered from previous.... the other ones seemed to kinda bring together things after the one before it, if that makes sense,

I thought it just didn't really have the same impact as the others. There were certainly a lot of questions left after it, though. I have to say I had forgotten a lot from the previous films, which made it a little confusing at times!

i think thats what i liked most about the previous ones, they seemed to do a great job in reminding you what happened in the previous film that it was pulling from... and how everything seemed to just come together at the end of the film and explained away at the rest.....

im curious to see if they plan on releasing another one next year and how many more are in the series.... i think ones been released every year since the first one... maybe if they are planning on another installment, they tried too hard at leaving the ending "open" for the writing of the next one?

i like the way they seem to be able to provoke conversation... or maybe thats just me??

I've heard that the Saw series is taking a break for next year, but there will be another film in two years time, and I think they are making at least one or two more films after that one.
