those things bug me too =[ like when 5th grade boys throw a fit because they can't get a video game that is rated m (mature) for violence. "it's only blood and shooting! it's not that bad!" that really bothers me..
i think that whole "little-boys-can-play-with-guns" thing is stupid. yeah i mean parents will argue that it's only "playing", but when they have a real gun will they still think it's only "playing"? yes, the will. of course fake guns aren't nearly as harmful as real ones, but what little boy knows that? they see a gun, and they think they can play with it. it's stupid.
you know what bugs me is the little kindergarteners that i work with are ALL corrupted at such a young age. i know a kindergarten boy who has watched porn on tv with his brother (who's in 5th grade) and his father. i know a little kindergarten girl who has taken the barbies and demonstrated what sex was to other children (she got in trouble for that). most of the kindergarteners all know every swear word there is. one of the boys told me that his father taught them all to him. i find it terrible about how all these kids know about all this stuff at such a young age. things were definitely not like this when i was a kid. no one knew swear words or knew about sex (or at least what it was). it is terrible that children enjoy playing with pretend "guns." at schools and at ess, the childrean are not allowed to pretend shoot/stab/hit/kill each other like parents let them do at home. i honestly am very disappointed in many of the parents of this new generation of children. i just wish things wouldn't get any worse...but i know they will. =\
