 [Giovanni is currently reading some large Geology text for his class on the couch, having gotten slightly better from the nasty shock of his kid disappearing. He's still been quiet for a bit, but there's not the oppressive air around him right now.]

[He might think there's no opressive air, but Archer would beg to differ. Ever since Silver left it's been quiet. Very quiet. The boss isn't his usual self, but who could blame him? From what little Archer's been able to gather, it seemed like things were getting better between the boss and the heir. It's unfortunate, but there's nothing that can be done about it now.]

[He's not normally very talkative, but the oppressive silence has been killing him. He wants to talk to the boss, even if it's about nothing important. So when he finds the boss reading he immediately finds a good place to start a conversation.]

Something for class? [He nods to the book.] I must admit, I've never been very interested in Geology. What made you decide to teach it?

[Giovanni looks up, a fairly blank look on his face. It takes him a moment to process Archer's question.]

I've always been interested in it, ever since I was a child; I even have a Ph.D. in it. That's one of the reasons most of my team is Ground based.

[He waits, hands folded behind him, trying not to look as anxious as the silence is making him. It's as though the boss doesn't want to talk to him. But that's not it. He just has a lot on his mind, right?]

Yes, sir, I know. [But that doesn't explain how rocks are interesting.] This area of study was never one of my stronger ones... What is it you're currently researching? [He's not really as curious as he sounds, but anything to get you talking seems good enough at the moment.]

[He raises an eyebrow at Archer.]

You were there for class Tuesday, do you not remember? We're starting with natural phenomenon and we talked about geysers a bit. I'm studying up more on volcanoes and earthquakes, even though the latter is my field.
