It is 10:30am in Rome and I am watching the coverage of the Pope's funeral mass on the news right now.

When I was driving home from Joe's house tonight there was a little tribute on one of the radio stations that sounded like Celine Dion singing Ave, Maria with some soundbites over it talking about John Paul's life.

You might try finding and listening to the version of "Ave Maria" composed by Rachmaninov - my Catholic friend Lauren really recommends it. I'm glad you are still proud to be a Catholic; I don't know if it's possible to ever forget or abandon your roots, but I think it's great that you don't want to. I hope you let it become a bigger part of who you turn into.

Well-known hymns are beautiful! I wish I knew some of the Catholic ones as well as I do the LDS hymns. The only ones I recognized from my friend's hymnbook (besides the Christmas and patriotic ones, of course) were "All Creatures of Our God and King," "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God," and one of my all-time favorites: "How Great Thou Art."

I'm not gonna comment on you being an awful Catholic =P but back when we were talking a lot, you were a pretty good friend and I think that counts for something.
