A/N: This is a product of the 3 a.m. hour and watching promos for BBS. This is supposed to fit prompt [194] Gift at kh_drabble , but it likes to play hide and seek >_< Aaaaanyway...
They fight, like little warriors, wielding wooden swords that collide with a dull clunk as they clash again and again. Already they are fighting, and he wonders if somehow they know the world is on the cusp of war.
The silver haired boy knocks the other onto the sand and points his sword triumphantly at his friend’s chest.
Best to learn their lessons now, Terra thinks, when the blades aren’t real, the damage is imaginary, and childhood innocence is still within their reach. It is too late for him, he fears, but not for them.
And not for Ven. He will make sure of that.
Moments later, the victor is offering his hand to his fallen comrade, and they laugh, brushing sand off of their clothes and out of their hair. It is not long before they are fighting again, and the whistling of their swords swinging through the air mingles with their laughter.
As he leaves the familiar beach for what might be the last time, he thinks that he will fight for them, so they won’t have to, for Ven, because the weight of the world wasn’t meant for his shoulders, and for Aqua, because she’s followed him to the brink and back.

When he swings his keyblades, they are light like wooden swords, Ven’s smile pulls at the corners of his mouth, and the fire of Aqua’s gaze blazes in his eyes.
Their strength is his, and victory will be all of theirs.
