i really enjoyed calc, in college at least. it made me feel really smart even though i was only good at it because i'd already taken it in high school (where that and an apparently sadistic teacher almost destroyed my will to live).
how'd the day(s) of doom go? also, tell me about this photovoice thing. are you presenting?
Photovoice project: Institutionalizing Tagalog at the UW. Saturday Nov. 18th UW's ECC 12-4pm RSVP!breckieNovember 10 2006, 01:31:09 UTC
well I think I made it through the week...
The Photovoice thing should be pretty cool. My friends have taken some pretty cool pictures, mine are okay but a little abstract, its a group of like 8 of us. That is what happens when you are not Filipino and are trying to protray the importance of the language. The point is kind of to document the importance of a Tagalog program being offered at UW. Its basically an attempt to create awareness among students and faculty of the challenge we are faced with in trying to institutionalize the Tagalog program so that we will have tenured faculty and permanent classes offered on campus. Its weird because I think Filipino is the 2nd largest minority at UW. We (and myself in particular) are trying to progress Tagalog beyond the status of a heritage language at UW so that there will be more interest among non-Filipino students, and increase enrollment in the upper division courses. Etc... That's my shameless self-promotion anyway. AND free Filipino food!
