When Sergeant Sally Donovan met DI Lestrade for the first time, she automatically glanced at his left hand. It's something she's been doing for years; always check to see if they're married. She knew better than to get involved with a married man. Especially a coworker. When she saw the glint of gold on his hand, she sighed to herself, mused that all the good ones were either married or gay, and just moved on.

When Tom Anderson joined the forensics team at the Met, he met with his new supervisor, DI Lestrade. Lestrade seemed like a good fellow. Over the next few weeks, Anderson discovered Lestrade was a bit of a workaholic, which was an understatement, actually. He was sure the man never went home before midnight. When Anderson came home late one night to the cold shoulder of his wife, he decided Lestrade's wife was probably a lot more understanding, and he was a lucky man for having her.

Oh my THIS SO AWESOME :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD I so loved it. I loved that you had a different POV for each section and then at the end half of them are on the crime scene, I love how everyone assumes that Lestrade is married/estranged/divorced/with an understanding wife and never getting it right, John getting that Lestrade likes Sherlock but not that they're actually together. And OMG THE END WAS SO PRICELESS I'M GRINNING SO HARD :DDDDDD thanks so much! <333333333333 I'm in love with this.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!! =D *bounces happily* I saw this prompt and I was like MUST WRITE NOW =D And what's better is that I just rewatched Sherlock last night with my mom, so I was totally in the right frame of mind to write =D
John was probably my favorite to write because "obviously divorced, look at how he looks at Sherlock!" makes me giggle =D

I was desperate for a good Sherlock/Lestrade... and then I found THIS. I love this fic, I do, I do (do you think one can marry a fanfic?).
Of course, the way Lestrade looked at Sherlock made John think it was probably a divorce. Happily married men don't often stare lovingly at their consulting detectives. This had me laughing so hard!
Oh gosh. This is is delightful -- Lestrade's matter-of-factness and Sherlock's smugness, and oh dear me Sally: "She knew better than to get involved with a married man. Especially a coworker." And Sherlock calling him 'Greg' -- missed that first time through, then I caught it on the re-read and it gave me a warm happy glow.
