It was not easy for Julian at first. It had been quite the trick to retain his commission with Starfleet, especially since his most vocal protector, Captain Sisko, was no longer there to vouch for him. Colonal Kira helped all she could, but as part of the Bajoran military, she didn't have much pull with Starfleet brass. Julian had to call in every favour that was ever owed to him as well as argue the case that it would be in the Federation's best interest to have a Starfleet doctor help organise disaster relief to the Cardassians. Perhaps this would be a way of ensuring peace between the two powers ( ... )

Ah, this was fantastic! It's so like Garak to turn even his wedding day to his political advantage, and Julian's determination to make things work there was encouraging too. Thank you!

At least it's just the wedding ceremony that's being broadcast planet-wide not the wedding *night*. Though that would probably gain them a LOT of favor!
