Usually they fight over what to watch on TV. There's a strange dance of compromises they've come up with, depending on whether or not it's college football season, and what their touring schedule is like.
Sometimes they fight just to make up.
Not tonight though.
Kris laces his hand through Adam's, and leans his head on his shoulder.
"Maybe it'll be here, soon," Kris says.
"Maybe," Adam says. "Kris--"
Kris closes his eyes. He's loved Adam all his life it seems, and just being here is hard sometimes. Because he'd loved his wife as well, and it's hard to love two people so much.
It's a complicated thing for him, so he usually ignores everything and just leans.
"Yeah, Adam?"
"Do you think, maybe, when my stupid state actually legalizes us getting married, if I asked you really nicely, you might consider getting married then?"
