Thank you so very much! :D And ee, I so adore them too. :)
Uuuhm. Clearly I have all my bookmarks somewhere else, but there's some at mr_edna_may. At some point I think someone had put together a masterlist of all the Maurice fic out there in a single post but I don't have the link atm. :/ And damn, I can't find my favorite one but it's recced all over the place - if you find a link for a story with an OC POV set after WWI where the both of them work for him after serving that's totally worth reading. There's some on A03 too, that's the tag for the fandom.

Oh! This was my first OTP before I even knew what that was! I saw the film years ago on HBO (or whatever channel)and fell in love with it. I didn't even know about slash, or fanfic at all, at the time! So very happy to read this utterly beautiful story!

The callbacks to the dialogue in the film was just lovely. It's weird that many love this film/story but there are only relatively few fic about it. Probably because many people (including me) just think that they lived happily ever after and don't want to spoil. Even EM Forster eschewed his proposed epilogue because ht couldn't seem to get it right.
But those that are brave enough to imagine a future for Maurice & Alec give us lovely, wonderful closure to their story. Like you.
England has always been disinclined to accept human nature, he was told, just after being told to go to France. Or Italy ( ... )
