1. My mom is doing okay. She's still off work because they haven't identified what it is yet, though, which is really worrying. They were sure it was hepititis, but all the tests came back negative, so they're looking for something else now. She's being a trooper, though. Mostly she's just bored since she's too sick to do much ( Read more... )

Now I'm even more excited! The parade is on Sunday the 19th (August) and my bday is on the Saturday.

Regarding #4, it hasn't been confirmed. In fact, the head CW network suit (can't be arsed to look up his name) said at Upfronts that he "can't imagine" S8 being the last one. However, when Jensen and Jared re-signed their last contract, it was for two more years, which takes them through S8. After that, who knows? Three years ago I'd have said there's no way that Jared (especially) wanted to stay on even this long, that he was itching to move on to a big movie career, but since then he's become a husband (of a wife who, to my knowledge, isn't working at all) and father. I don't know if that changes his mind about moving on from Supernatural or not. Maybe a steady paycheck in a stable environment means more to him now that he's trying to raise a family. I have never been to a Pride! It's never really appealed to me, but...holding hands in public without anxiety does sound good. We never ever hold hands because my SO grew up in rural Texas and New Mexico and can't bring herself to be comfortable with it.

Pride has a lot of parts that just aren't my scene, but it has its good moments too. Walking down the street without having to worry about any negative comments or sideeye, or being mistaken for friends (or sisters!) is kind of the best part for me. I like the chance to be seen as who we really are.

Sorry to hear about the lack of hand holding; I kind of know what that's like since I'm lucky enough to have lived all my life in large Canadian cities with relatively low levels of homophobia, but my girlfriend's from a very very very small, conservative rural town, so she has anxieties I've (luckily) never had to experience.
