It is such a horrible, sad thing that happened, and I can imagine even if you hadn't known someone who had died it must be incredibly painful, but knowing someone -- Gods, I can't even imagine it.
Your country - Norwegian's in general, and your PM and King and Queen, too - seem to have acted in such a way that is not filled with hate or anger, but with compassion and togetherness; you should all be so proud of that, as I can imagine it is only too easy to get angry at a time when something so horrible has happened.
Yeh, it was horrible enough before I got to know about my old neighbour. Words cannot really describe how I think most Norwegians are feeling now.
Yeh, I am. I've been watching lots of the press conferences and such, and all of our PM's speeches have brought me to tears. I am so proud of my country, and we will get through this, even though it will leave scars that will never go away.
I'm really don't know what to say. What your country is going through right now is just heartbreaking. And I'm so sorry about your old neighbour... that poor girl :(
It's just unimaginable how someone could do this terrible thing.
It's always terrible when things like this happen. It was especially shocking to me that it happened in small peaceful Norway. So sorry your friend and all the others were lost. Did they catch the guy?
Yeh, it sure is. And yeh, I know... I am in shock too. But, it can happen all over the place. All it takes is one person and a strong conviction. Horrible. Yeh, they caught him at the camp.
I kept thinking about you when it was on the news, I'm so glad that you're okay!
I couldn't believe when I heard about because... Well, because its Norway. America, Australia or Eastern European countries would have been less surprising but Norway... I was just stunned.
Then we all went to bed here thinking it was an atrocity but that the death toll was less than 10 as the news said, but then we wake up the next day to hear that its more like 90+.
Its people like him that have been marching in England as the English Defence League and it really scares me that the current climate economically and security wise has lead to the resurgence of these kinds of ultra right-wing groups.
Yeh, I know what you mean. I never expected anything like this to happen here either. But, one man and a strong conviction is all it takes, and you can find that in every country, unfortunately.
That was really bad. They've lowered the number again now though. I don't know how they managed to get it up to 94, and now down to around 70... But, hey, less dead people is a good thing.
Yeh, people like that is all over... It does scare me as well.
Yeh, me too.. It's hard to believe. I know. Being at Rådhusplassen today was so amazing. The love and compassion was overwhelming. And what a strong and great leader Stoltenberg is.
