“Jinki, have you ever imagined how life would be if we weren’t together?” Kibum asked one night in bed as they were cuddling.
Jinki pushed himself up onto his elbow to better look as his lover. “Why? Would you prefer if that was the truth?” he questioned the other back, his face crumpling into a slightly hurt expression.
Gasping, Kibum quickly shook his head. “Never; how could I ever be able to live without you?! When I was down and out, you were the only one that was willing to save me… I wouldn’t know where I’d be if you didn’t. I love you so much… And I’m so thankful to have you by my side,” he replied, hugging Jinki tightly.

Kibum had been a street busker, singing for a living. He had been trying to make ends meet for he was also studying at the same time. His irregular schooling hours made it difficult for him to be able to get a proper job which was the main reason why he ended up busking instead.
Jinki had been walking past on one of the nights the younger happened to be performing and fell in love with his voice. Shaping Kibum into a star had been easy, what with the good looks and social etiquette skills the younger had but winning his heart had been difficult.
Off the stage, Kibum was a closed-off person with a lonely life, a solitary being with no family or friends. In addition, Kibum had been into too many failed relationships to willingly fall in love with anyone again but Jinki had relentlessly showered Kibum with care and concern, teaching the latter how to open his self up to another once more.
Now they were happily married to each other as Kibum sang the songs Jinki specially composed for him. Granted, most of them would be what one would call corny love songs but the songs they collaborated on together often had an underlying message, one of hardship and acceptance.
It hadn’t been easy for them to get to where they were. Facing many obstacles, there had been moments where they had been on the verge of breaking up to cater to the whims of Jinki’s family. Although it had been his decision to be with Kibum, the former’s family simply put the blame on the younger, faulting him for making their son a homosexual.

“How can you simply sit there and let them mouth off like that? I have feelings too! I’ve never forced you to be with me! Why didn’t you back me up? You could’ve said something!” Kibum sobbed out, the feeling of betrayal pressing against his chest, making it hard for him to breathe.
Sensing Kibum was going to hyperventilate at any moment then, Jinki immediately crushed the smaller man against his chest. Cooing softly to soothe the other, Jinki replied, “Baby, it’s not that I didn’t want to say anything. If I had done so, wouldn’t you think that they would have attacked you even more, probably for something stupid like causing me to have bad manners?” Jinki could tell that Kibum was starting to calm down as he nodded, his sobs dwindling to sniffles so Jinki continued, “Anyway, you know I care about you. It doesn’t matter what anyone else says because I love you and will continue to love you for the years to come. I love you, Kibummie… forever more.”
Although the time they were together weren’t exactly the smoothest, it helped immensely that they were both being supportive of each other. In fact, that had been the driving force for them to stay together to weather the storm by each other’s side.

Burying himself deeper into the covers, Kibum held on tighter to Jinki as he pressed his cheek against the elder’s chest. “Jinki, it’s been a long journey but we’ve made it together. I’m so blessed to have found you,” Kibum said, squeezing the elder a little.
“I feel the same way too, baby... so very thankful with you by my side. I love you, Kibummie… forever more,” Jinki replied before capturing the other’s lips in a passionate kiss.
