Counting pages...

I'm starting to wonder if reading page after page of threads on ASoIaF theories counts as reading book pages, because damn these things are in depth. Most of them require me to go do research on other sites to remind me of every person/event/history being discussed. It's crazy!

This is the one issue that I'm sort of reeling from so I'm just going to start here:

Jon Snow: alive/dead?

Oh, is that a hot button topic for me...

Well, the official, oblique GRRM answer when asked "Why did you kill Jon Snow?" is "Oh, you think he's dead, do you?"

The discussion threads are constantly abuzz with speculation. General theories hold that dead or not, he's not gone for good. He's too pivotal to lose, especially given his position at the Wall, the mystery surrounding his parentage and random mentions of his missing uncle Benjen throughout the series. Also, it's been pointed out that with the exception of Zombie Cat, no POV character (other than the standard prologue/epilogue ones) has been killed in their own chapter. Now, GRRM could be changing it up, but it stands to reason that we're not done with Jon yet.

My own personal worry is what he'll be like once he returns, which I think will depend on a) how long he's 'gone' and b) the manner of his return. And boy are there a lot of theories on how he'll come back...

Also, I hate Bowen Marsh now. Craven asshole.

What do you think of 'the letter'?
