Essay 1: Why my boyfriend is amazing
My boyfriend is amazing because he surprises me when i least expect it. He spoils me too. For my birthday he not only got me an easel, but threw me a surprise party, got me my favorite movie, flowers, a cake, balloons, and freakin took me to Disney world where we had an fantastic time. He even got me souvenirs and French desserts. Anytime i would say, "i don’t know that's a little expensive" or "what do you want to do?" he'd say, "its your vacation, this is your time, do whatever you want".(At the Japan pavilion at epcot, i really wanted a pearl you get from choosing an oyster, but i thought it'd be too expensive to get it set in a necklace or something, so as i was waiting for the fireworks at epcot, holding our spot on the lakeside, he hands me a small box and inside its a pearl (the largest one that day) mounted on a Japanese character that meant love, i couldn’t hold back the waterworks). And most importantly, i got a disturbing call thanksgiving day saying that my grandpa had passed out and hit his head, my grandpa is getting better, but Paul was right there beside me, there for me anytime i needed him. He makes me laugh constantly. He told me i can never be sad as long as i'm with him, and i cant, he'll always find a way to make me smile even when i'm trying to be mad at him- i usually end up looking constipated trying to keep my frown while fighting the smile. He's incredibly understanding. I was so scared about this quarter, and that with studio taking up my time, we wouldn’t get to be together as often, he assured me that we'd find a way. i could tell he was sincere. There’s another surprise in store for me, my Christmas gift. I don’t know what it is, but I know its going to be perfect, all his gifts are. Either I’m really obvious or he’s really thoughtful, I think he’s just really thoughtful. My grandparents love him. He took me to see them when I missed them so much. The night before thanksgiving I missed my family, being around his made me miss mine, he hugged me and said, “you have a family here”. If I need his help, he’s right there for me. Building a desk or setting up my studio in hale hall, when I got flash burn from welding and couldn’t see, he took care of me completely. He got my medicine, got me lunch, and sat in the dark with me till I got better. He tries to get to know my friends, even went to Monroe with Blake and I and helped Blake pick out a clock and load it in his car. He took me to meet his Dad in Pineville and his Mom in Galliano. One of the first months we were getting to know each other, he took me to help him shop for his niece’s Christmas gift- I remember she wanted a dog, skies I think, and Switzerland- I drew her a little map of Switzerland. We both love sushi and barbeque, ribs and steak, we figured out our perfect day with all those foods. Even though he doesn’t eat breakfast, he stopped and got breakfast everyday of our weekend. I like it when he helps me make cookies. And when he makes special dinners for me. He encourages me to do what I love, paint and draw. He said he could watch me draw all day- unless there’s a football game on, hehe. Lsu or Saints games are suddenly funny when you watch them with Paul. He goes nuts when they make a touchdown or get a good tackle. Not to mention going to the basketball or volleyball games hearing him yell to the ref- “I will google search your house!” or to the opposing players “I’ll find you on facebook and poke you everyday!” He’s helped me become more comfortable with myself, and less concerned with what other people think. The random text messages letting me know he cares makes everyday better. When he was done with classes one day and could have been napping while it rained outside, he picked me up from my class and brought me to my next one, just so I wouldn’t get wet. He can only fall asleep on his stomach, but even when he’s exhausted, he lets me fall asleep on his chest before he lets himself fall asleep. On the drive to Disney, he woke up at 4am and still told me to sleep on the way there while he drove the first leg of the trip. He made sure I was ok and got me coffee so I could drive. My Christmas present was given to me early and it was amazing. I thought, no it cant be…but it was, he got me a Red Ipod! Something I wanted and it also donated to a worthy cause, can you get better? He finds ways to let me know he loves me all the time, whether its making me breakfast when I first wake up or just a simple, “good morning beautiful” to little hugs and kisses. He amazes me constantly. I’m sure there’s probably much more that I forgot, and much more to come but it’s the sweet little things he does that makes me love him more everyday.
