Iker wins the election, and for the next week, a shit storm brakes loose in the halls of Pensacola High School. For a while, Cesc starts to wonder how he even got elected if this many people were against it.

--

When senior year starts, no one remembers how upset they were only a few months ago, and Iker becomes the new man on campus. It’s weird, Cesc thinks, that someone can just suddenly come out of nowhere, and everyone acts like they’ve known them for ever.

Iker’s sudden popularity isn’t the only weird thing that happens at the beginning of senior year though. Xabi and Sergio are still being nice to him, but Cesc can’t seem to read them, or Iker for that matter. They seem to be going out of their way, and Cesc wonders if they really want to talk to him or if they are secretly going back to their friends and laughing at Cesc because he doesn’t realize they are mocking him. The interest isn’t constant either, one day they’ll talk, the next they’ll ignore him. Iker seems nice, but every time Cesc suggests something at a meeting, Iker shoots him down like he’s stupid. It’s incredibly frustrating, and Cesc just really wishes they would be straight foreword with him.

--
Iker and Cesc have a psychology class together, and when their teacher switches seats, they end up right next to each other. If it was anyone else, Cesc could talk and start conversations, but anything he wants to say to Iker doesn’t seem worthy or interesting for one reason or another. To Cesc, Iker doesn’t care about what happened in his last class, or that he’s learning to develop photographs and the chemicals in the darkroom smell like shit. So, Cesc just sits next to him silently and hopes that Iker will start a conversation with him or Cesc will think of something interesting to say for once.

“So, how’s the kid?” Sergio asks, he and Xabi are sitting on one side of the booth during lunch while Iker sits on the other, he shrugs.

“Fine.”

“You know, you only have a month left.” Xabi pipes in, his fork playing with ‘chicken’ the school serves. He cuts it up and takes a bite.

“Yeah Xab, I know.” Iker sighs. “He doesn’t fucking talk though.”

“You don’t have to talk to fuck him.” Sergio says.

“No, but I prefer if he didn’t press charges either.” Iker glares.

“You’re boring.”

“I know Sergio, how dare I not want to go to jail.” Iker laughs.

“I heard they have wonderful food there.” Xabi chimes in. “But really Iker, if you want to call the whole thing off, I’m sure Messi wouldn’t mind it. In fact, he would probably love it.”

“Fuck him, this whole thing is stupid anyway. And there has to be something about how you can’t force the class president to sleep with someone or you’ll impeach him. How does Messi even have enough friends to make a majority against me?”

“It’s not like you really have to fuck him, you know, you could just explain the whole situation to him, tell him how much being president means to you, blah bah blah.” Sergio says.

“Oh look, it’s Sergio Ramos, the voice of reason.” Xabi says.

“Or you could just take advantage of the situation and get laid, and face it Iker, you need to get laid.” Sergio adds.

“There’s the Ramos we all know and love.” Xabi pats Sergio’s shoulder.

That night, Iker sits up and tries to think of ways to start talking to Cesc. He honestly knows nothing about the kid and Iker isn’t sure why Messi decided that was the guy.

When Iker gets back to school the next day, he and Cesc talk about what Iker’s ideas are for the senior prank. It ends up being more of Iker talking and Cesc sitting there nodding, but at least he’s getting somewhere with him. By the end of the week, Iker figures that they have enough pleasantries to where it wouldn’t be weird if he wants to hang out. He invites him to play football with Xabi and Sergio the next day At first, Cesc is hesitant, but Iker insists that they need another person so they can play two on two, and Cesc gives in. He figures he’s played FIFA 11 enough to have some football ability, and even if he makes a fool of himself, at least he’s doing something for once.

Cesc meets the three of them up at the high school’s practice field. Iker’s in net and Sergio and Xabi are taking shots on him. He walks up so he’s standing next to Xabi and watches Iker block a shot that bounces off of him and hits Sergio square in the stomach. Sergio falls to his knees, his arms wrapped around his stomach, all three of them laugh.

“Fuck!” Sergio groans.

“Get up you pansy, it wasn’t even that bad!” Xabi pulls him up, his face still red.

“Iker, I get goal this time.” Sergio mumbles.

“Whatever.” Iker shrugs.

“I guess that means I get net for us.” Xabi tells Cesc before he can protest.

They decide to end the game when Sergio and Iker are up 5 points to Cesc and Xabi’s 1. Despite the horrible defeat, and Cesc’s new found inability to play football, Iker still wraps an arm around Cesc’s shoulders when it’s over and congratulates him on a job well done. Cesc has to work to hide the blush that covers his cheeks.

Sergio’s phone rings and it ends up being Cris, inviting Sergio and anyone he wants to bring to a little get together he’s having that night.

“You wanna come too?” Iker asks, his arm is still spread across Cesc’s shoulders, and his face is entirely to close for Cesc’s liking.

“Yeah, I guess. I don’t have anything else to do.” Cesc gives a nervous laugh.

“Alright then, to CRon’s!” Iker pumps his other arm into the air.
