Who/What is Mary Sue?

Also why do all my attempts come out looking super faggy?

Mary Sue is the name for a character in a story who's clearly a fantasy stand in for the author, and in a bad way. Normally used in fan-fiction, where there's a character who's inserted who's wonderful and amazing and everyone likes and ends up sleeping with all the regular characters.
