I've been fairly torn this election season, once Edwards dropped out.  And while I tended to the Obama side, I was still pretty pleased either way.  I've been less and less thrilled with Clinton, due to some of the tactics she and her campaign have engaged in.  Still and all, though, it's a pretty fun time to be a Democrat.  I don't think for the ( Read more... )

You think it's fun to be a Democrat right now? Wow.

I'm on the other side of that fence, unable to even discuss the election with half my friends, and wondering how they can support this guy. I think this sucks.

I'm also still waiting for any of my female friends who support Obama to tell me how and why they aren't violently insulted by little things like him publicly insinuating that Clinton's menstrual periods and hormones are why she doesn't love him. Not one explanation as to why this is acceptable (that pause and not-quite-smirk at "periodically" is a masterpiece). Still waiting for one. If she or anyone else insinuates that he's pissy because he's black or because his middle name is Arabic, she'd get ripped to shreds ( ... )

I think that was appalling, and there's no excuse for it. I'm not sure how it lines up against "If he says he's not a Muslim, I guess we'll take him at his word" or "oh, that South Carolina, so full of black people", but I can sincerely say they all three hurt my opinions of them, and it's kind of sickening.

I also think that handing McCain ammunition to use (not just against Obama, but against her as well), and of this on all issues, is a much, much bigger deal.
