It surprises me to see you reading a Karpyshyn novel.

I got offered an ARC of it on Amazon Vine a while back, and it intrigued me enough that I eventually ordered a copy after it shifted to Vine's "take as many as you want" list. I probably wouldn't have given it a second glance if I hadn't recognized Karpyshyn's name from his Star Wars novels. (I don't read Star Wars novels, but I have a general sense of what's going on with the line and who's writing for it.) It wasn't really my cup of tea, but there are enough interesting elements mixed in among the usual fantasy tropes that I might give the rest of the trilogy a shot if it shows up on Vine.
