Not to piss off all our friends out there but it is springtime in the desert. We started noticing buds on the trees here the last few days. Today was really pretty so we went to the Tucson Botanical Gardens. Lots of stuff there was budding out. There were even some flowers in bloom. Yep....I've been doing my best to stay quiet and not rub it in, but DAMN it's so fabulous I could just SCREAM or something! hehehe

We are having the MOST bizarre winter. The first week of January we were kayaking in the Potomac with shorts and a tank. OK, *I* had shorts and a tank. Maura has slightly more clothing on. But still . . .

The last few weeks have been brutally cold (in the teens every day). Granted the whole "brutal" winter has only been the last three weeks, but under normal circumstances, we'd be seeing buds and crocuses by now too.

Still looking forward to a chance to visit you in Tucson. And waiting to see what the weather does in July. Since over 75 is my equivalent to the wicked witch of the east (or was it west) and water . . . . Arizona in July might not be a good time. :)
